I now have the king pins removed from the axle, still not sure as to origin.

My Bitsa - DLM1 Special is more of a hybrid than first thought.
The axle was thought to be Standard 9 but the steering arms don't match up to a nine.
The steering arm for the rack and pinion looks like a modification.
The front brake back plates look more modern,(Hydraulic and twin leading shoe).

Back to the king pins, the bushes have no holes for the grease nipples, this can be rectified, the king pins look as though they have never seen a bit of grease.

My question is - can anyone ID a king pin by size and design/shape
I have measured one of them Dia. .686 - length 4 1/8 these are imperial measurements and approx as the mike showed between .685 and .688 depending on position on the one cleanish 'bushed' section.

The gentleman who has been trying to ID 'anything' has a book with ALL UK vintage king pins, found a few illustration that are similar but the book has no dimensions.

Well the ID of the kingpin
Standard 9, but there are two types for the standard 9.
One set has the grease holes in the bushes, and the other ,later, has the kingpin drilled with channels for the grease via a grease nipple on the top of the pin

By the looks of it I have a hybrid of the kingpins as well

The hub / stub axles are from the earlier model, the bushes are from the later model, and the kingpins are from the early model.

The earlier model has grease nipples at the sides of the bushes, the later has a drilled kingpin with the grease nipple on the top.

That is why there are no holes in the present bushes for the grease.

Think I'll opp for the later kingpin and bushes, drilled pin with grease nipple on the top, then I can drill the grease hole through the bushes before reaming, that way three nipples per pin, grease will get there some how.
