Fantastic rate of work, and what a handsome colour scheme and trim colour you have gone for.
Keep it up!

I am now able to load up some pics of the body restoration. I appreciate this is not chronological as the car is nearly finished now.
Most of these pics show the body tub, wings and chassis etc after blasting and priming when the true extent of the rust could be seen for the first time.
I am sure that for those of you who have done this all before the result will not come as a surprise. For me it was a shock to see what I thought was basically sound was in fact riddled with tin worm.
This pic shows what I thought was a sound chassis:

This is the same chassis during repair:

This is the bracket for the front nearside shockabsorber. The sa was seized which then in turn caused the crack !!:

The next two show the rear inside of the body tub followed by the panel made to replace it:

The next few are a selction of rusted body panels before and during repair:

I appreciate that looking at a load of close up photos of rust is not everyones cup of tea, so here is one of paint drying !!

Meanwhile work has not progressed much in the last week, I hope to finish reling the brakes this weekend, tidy up the wiring and put the bonnet on.

Very interesting to see that stage of the build. Do you plan doing another car once the Morris is complete, or are you hoping to have a break from tackling tinworm?? Smile

What a difference a bit of sun makes, it has been a pleasure to work outside.
I have relined the brakes and fitted the bonnet, just need ti fit and wire the lights and I can start thinking about an MOT !!
By the way the covering on the running boards is just temporary, I put some thin rubber sheet on to protect the paintwork when I was trial fitting the running boards.
At some stage I will think about re-chroming the bumpers and rad surround. If anyone knows of anyone decent in my part of the world, let me know (Essex/Suffolk).
Just acouple of pics taken today, I am pleased with the colour scheme.

I have taken the plunge and booked an MOT for Tues 19th April. I have only moved the car in and out of the garage so far....I am quite worried that I may not ebven make it to the garage !!
On the other hand I am really looking forward to trying it on the road so fingers crossed.

I can't beleive it !!!
My Morris 8 passed the MOT today, however it was the first time it has been driven and I am obviuosly having problems with the catrb or fuel pump. It is very happy to tick over but as soon as you start to give it more throttle the engine starts to die.

But the main thing is that it is legal, I shall get it taxed and taken off SORN tomorrow.

This is Gwendolen (the Morris Cool after passing the MOT, looking very pleased !!

Now some of the teething problems are starting to show having been on the road. One thing that baffles me is that when moving off in reverse there is violent axle tramp. It happens a little in first but not too bad.
I have checked the u bolts fixing the axle to the springs.
Can any one suggest what might be the problem, please.
Cheers
Bob

Axle tramp can be caused by a number of thing's but i would check all the bushes on the axle and spring, weak rear springs, shock absorber's worn, and as has been suggested soft or broken mounting's on the engine and or gearbox.
