The reputation for battleship styling came along with the 144 and continued in the later 244 which drew heavily on its forebear. Most 244s have either been driven into the ground by hardcharging builders or else thrashed mercilessly by caravanners by now. This one looks like a very well cared for example and dates to 1979/1980. Later versions were tweaked and re-badged as the 240.
