A cartoon of an RAF Austin 8 tourer already appears on this site, and now I've added this picture, that shows what looks like an ex-RAF Austin Eight saloon. I say ex- because the condition looks quite 'knocked about', and the roundels on each front wing are very faded and disappearing. The chromework is still painted in line with usual practice with military staff cars, and the overall paintwork looks rather matt. Perhaps it was now in private ownership following WW2, or due for retirement soon?
Quite where this photo was taken I don't know. Most of the registration is unclear, although the letters 'RAF' can be made out at the start of the serial number. Judging by the chap's attire, and the fact that all the windows are wound down, it must have been used somewhere quite warm. Photographs of a civilian Austin 8 tourer can be found on this page in the vintage motoring photos section.
