Classic Austin A40 in the snow

Where we live, it is quite unusual to get a decent snowfall. Occasional dustings of snow we do get most winters, but snow that is 5" - 6" deep is very rare. We woke up one March morning in 2006 and a deep blanket of snow covered everything in sight. The old cars live in a fairly cosy garage all year round, so they were nice and dry, which is more than can be said for my old Merc estate, and 'er indoors' little MX5..

Both 'moderns' took a fair bit of digging out before they could be moved - much more of this and investing in a classic snowplough mightn't be a bad idea!!

With the ground inches deep in snow, it seemed like a good opportunity to get some pictures of the black A40 Devon against a nice white backdrop, before all the snow and ice turns to slush and mud. The Devon was fired up and gingerly driven out onto the white stuff, driving slow so as not to flick any damp snow on the underside. Fortunately I don't spread salt and grit over the drive, unlike the local authorities, so it wasn't going to do the car any harm, bringing it out for some amateur photography.
