Footman James Great Western Autojumble, Bath & West Show Ground, 15th-16th February

A 1959 Ford Anglia that has been converted into an American Diner will take
centre stage at a rock 'n roll themed classic car show in February.

'Bettsy's Diner' was converted on the MTV show 'Pimp My Ride', and is one of
the many classic cars on show at the annual Footman James Great Western
Autojumble, taking place at the Bath & West Show Ground, Shepton Mallet over
15th-16th February.

Its current owner, the chairman of the Anglia Owners' Club, recently set
about an additional full body restoration and rewiring, which has cost in
excess of £12,000.

Paddi Hutchings-Clarke says, "It still needs a bit of tidying up here and
there, but looks great again and that's the main thing. I also had it
converted to run off of mains power via a caravan hook-up for indoor shows."

The show will offer visitors around one million spares, tools, gadgets and
collectables, a large car boot sale focusing on autojumble and a classic
vehicle auction.

For the first time, the show will also feature live music.

"The show is a celebration of great cars from a great era, but it wouldn't
be rock n roll without the music," says event organiser Nigel Stevens.

"We have some fantastic bands and musicians lined up, including one that
toured with The Beatles and the Glenn Miller Orchestra."

Charterhouse will be holding an auction of classic vehicles and memorabilia
on Sunday. Lots include a 1974 Hillman Avenger, which has covered only 2,523
since new, and an early 1960s BSA motorcycle, originally used by the Police.

The show is open from 9.30am-4pm on both days and adult tickets cost from
£9. Accompanied U16s can enter for free.

Further information and tickets are available at www.bccsl.co.uk, via
Twitter @BCCSevents or BCCSevents on Facebook.

The show's headline sponsor is Footman James Insurance, and the media
sponsors are Classic Car Weekly, Practical Classics and Classic Cars
magazine. The event is supported by Classic Motor Monthly and Autojumbler.

We went up last year for the autojumble, out of say 50 stands there were probably 10-15 autojumblers and the rest were cheap trade and fill in stalls like sweets and mobile phones!

Not good for £9.

The only good thing we found was the car park full of classics!

Went up to the show on Saturday, I have never heard so many people complain about a show. High ticket price and not much autojumble. Labelled as Rock'n'Roll show there was a band playing for about 20 mins when we got there but that was it. Not much 'themed' things on show as advertised.

I got talking to a few 'gents and ladies' all dressed up lovely for the 50's theme, they were so disappointed. They'd come a long way just through seeing the adverts. Not good Sad
