I've been looking at the PV544 dynamo, as it's not charging properly.
When I removed the dynamo, a lead that connects to a unit attached to the side of the dynamo fell out of the unit. It looks very much like a condenser, so I assume it's a capacitor of some kind.
It's marked up at 110v 0.5uf on one side, and BERU SK 212/2 on the other.
What purpose does this serve in the charging circuit? I assume it stores a small amount of energy, but for what? I'll have to find another anyway!
thanks, R _________________ Rick - Admin

It's a capacitor to suppress radio interference .It will have been connected to the dynamo output terminal.
It wont have any effect on the dynamo operation. |
