Anyone had success freeing up a frozen distributor with the engine assembled and just requires a timing adjustment?

the distributor on my Morris 10 was stuck in place for years and i was unable to use the manual advance/retard on the steering wheel... i tried soaking it in WD40 every week for about 3 months and had no success.

someone recommended "plus gas" - i saw some in a local shop and thought it might be worth a try, couple of squirts and a wiggle and it freed up instantly!

in fact its now too free and vibrations from the road can actually adjust the advance for me!

No garage or workshop is complete without a can of plusgas

Agee entirely. My Old Morris would be a rusting heap without it.

Whereas wd40 doesn't seem to work at all. It's odd as they appear to be very similar, i.e. very thin oil
