The steering wheel on my old Commer truck shows minimal signs of its original covering. I am looking to paint it black but don't like the thought of using a paint that may rub off easily.
Has anyone got any experience of what type of paints could be used? |

My Singer wheel shows a little bit of patina, nothing excessive but I am thinking of fitting a leather cover, just for the feel and smell really.

I am just recovering from a boring few hours of removing the leather cover from my Fiat wheel so that I could reveal the lovely, thin, whitish, plastic coated wheel It had been done really well with layers of thick tape, tightly wound and the cover itself was really neatly laced. It made the wheel a lot thicker and grippier actually.
The original owner had even painted the spokes and centre in matching black. The paint could only be taken off using a reasonably fine wet and dry so i used 400.
The point I am making is that the only thing i had to hand to bring back the shine was the Farecla G3 that I will be using on the paintwork. It worked a treat at binging back the shine and did it quickly. |

Managed to finally remove the steering wheel from the lorry, where i work we have a paint plant so i will put it through there. We use powders that give a good durability and i can ask for a certain thickness on the coating. We'll wait and see what finish i get. |
