ALVIS 12/50 BODY
This is one almighty longshot that might just hit the spot as I know this website embraces every imaginable sort of interest.
A friend of mine who has limited internet access,is restoring a 1930 Alvis 12/50 and will be replacing the original 4 door saloon built by Carbodies and hand crafting an open touring car body. The original was rotten beyond repair but has been carefully dismantled. All the original door frames, some with original glass, but without handles or locks plus most of the original wooden framework, roof and steel rear section is intact and could be very useful to provide patterns/profiles etc., for anyone restoring such a vehicle.
I've persuaded the owner not to scrap the remains until every possible avenue has been pursued although if you don't have a burning desire to acquire such irreplaceable parts but may "know a man who might" please put them in touch. They will be collection only from NW Kent and viewing possible strictly by prior appointment.
I will be taking loads of pics as soon as I can so anyone interested email me and I'll send them on.
It almost impossible to put a price on something as rare as this so its all for discussion
Good hunting!
PS; Loads of helpful people have been in touch suggesting Alvis OC and similar interest groups so anyone else intending to suggest the same please save your self the effort! |
