If memory serves me right this one has been listed before, not recently though.
It looks a really good basis for a project and in my opinion a very sensible starting price but I do wonder what the reserve would be? _________________ Various Rootes Vehicles. |

"I do not hold any registration documents or a V5."
Would that not be a problem? In the Netherlands you would not get a registration. _________________ a car stops being fun when it becomes an investment |

That's interesting.
So (in theory) I could gave my friend in the UK a car for which I do not have a registration here (or anywhere else), but does have a clear chassis number, he can have it registered to his name and then we can tansfer it to my name and import in the Netherlands? _________________ a car stops being fun when it becomes an investment |

It'll depend on whether there's an individual, or a club, who is recognised by DVLA to authenticate the vehicle's date or not. Rumour I've heard lately is that DVLA isn't always taking a club authority's word for it, when it comes to accurately dating a car.
But in theory, especially if it's a reasonably common car where there are plenty of manufacturing records around to confirm its age, then yes you could do that. Whether you'd pay any duty bringing the car to the UK, or when you export it to the Netherlands, I'm not sure. Again it may well depend on the car, and its age.

Yes, you can; and in fact I know of at least one instance where that has been done - and another where the exact opposite was done, when the UK DVLA would not accept the evidence provided, but did accept the (French) documents! |

I bit like when I drove my car in for an MOT and it failed. Drove it into another garage, with out doing any thing, and it passed !
You could get away with it in those days but now you have to return to the same garage, with the problems fixed. |

As the vehicle doesn't have an ID it couldn't be imported as a vehicle so it's actual age is irrelevant. It would have to be imported as used vehicle spares, I'd imagine with VAT charged somewhere along the line!
My one and only experience of registering an import led me to believe the ease of registration will depend on who you talk to in the DVLA.... when registering the MGA, I had a British Heritage Certificate dating the manufacture, when the certificate was issued in the early 90's the Rover Group who had absorbed MG was owned by British Aerospace, as British Aerospace ( who's name is on the certificate) were not on the "approved" list to date MG cars the local office would not accept it.it was only when I forced the issue and asked them to contact one of their historians ( they do have them) in Swansea, who took about 10 seconds to ok it once he saw a scan of the certificate. The local office wanted to issue a Q plate !
Had I got someone different at the counter it may have been straight forward from the outset.
If this lorry has a chassis plate then it should be strignt forward as Ford is still Ford and probably have records, failing that there will be a Ford club who are recognised by the DVLA .
