Can you use a Crypton to diagnose magneto cars?

Thanks to assistance from UKDave i have got my Crypton 335 up and running. Yesterday I visited a local Rolls Royce and Bentley restorer and they asked if my unit would be able to help them diagnose ignition problems on magneto based cars. From what i could see the magneto does not have a primary as it looks to be mechanically timed to issue the HT to the distributor. If anyone knows if a scope based diagnostic unit can be used on a magneto based ignition then i would appreciated some guidance on the connections and scope display patterns to look for.
