Sorry Peter, I have only just seen your question, 2 months late!!
I have been cleaning up and painting only where necessary..... I was using aerosol etch primer and aerosol marine blue paint that I had specially mixed by Express paints.
The results are not great, although the bulkhead turned out ok. Generally the paint finish is very thin, perhaps I am not giving enough coats.

Once the aerosol tins ran out, I am now using brushing paint I bought off the shelf at Paddock Spares made by HMG. Goes on well, and I quite like the brush marks, don't know why, that's just me I guess!!
Of course, the entire Landrover was brush painted by the previous owner anyway.
