Been doing some rewiring on my sons moped today due to a badly routed section of the loom catching the exhaust.
The electric iron I use is quite old and beyond its best, it doesn't seem to get to temperature any more.
What make do you find decent?

If you can warrant the cost a Weller such as the PS-2D 24V soldering station would be ideal.

Far better than the normal soldering irons available.

Are butane gas-powered irons any use? I noticed a pile of them in Aldi, although they don't come with gas included.

Ive bought a new Antex Iron along with some 60/40 lead solder.
I suspect the Maplins solder I have been using is half the issue Ive experienced.
