Bonkers price plus wildly over restored I think. They have polished the alloy bits of the engine for some reason. Marks off in a concours for that!

I saw a beautiful pre-war Triumph Dolomite sports saloon at the weekend for £37K, I know which one I'd go for!!

£35K for a chummy!?!?

Mad isn't it - a seemingly immaculate scuttle-lamp Chummy sold for about £26k at auction recently.

But can you blame anybody for trying their luck?

Incidentally my `98 110 Tdi Defender with wonderful patina and amazing travel history could be yours for just £100K!!

Looks lovely but they have used cheap, modern crimp on electrical connectors!

Quote Ad " “Total 2 year restoration to better than factory” / EndQuote.

Entitled to describe and price it however they wish. I can see it being bought by someone with loads of money but no real interest in older vehicles except as a novelty item, over which similar minded people will drool at the polished finish, shiny fan belt etc.

.... but that "joined" LT coil lead and unsympathetic crimped connections, what is that saying... "lipstick on a pig ? could it be all glitter and no real substance renovation ??

Oh I hadn't spotted that. It's like an American car 'restoration', just make it very shiny, don't bother with originality

very few are marked as sold on ebay. This looks highly usable, wish I could still do that sort of thing

This one http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1926-Austin-7-Chummy-/162117422881 is much nicer than the 35k jobby and a much more sensible price
