This is true, but if you go into your account settings and tick "Enable quick links", you don't have to click the gear wheel. It's still more clunky (sorry, "Responsive") than the old PB site, especially for those of us on low bandwidth connections.
On that subject, if you have bandwidth limits (either by speed or by data capacity per month) you're way better off resizing the picture before you upload it. |

I much prefer Flickr, it displays your photos better and I find it easier to use, although I appreciate these things are personal. I can't stand Windows either.

Bouncing this up because my patience with Photobucket is wearing very thin.
I have quite a lot on Photobucket and if they vanish then Forum postings will lose the image. I have digital copies so I don't need Photobucket.
I know its free, but I am certain that the system has become very slow of late.
I store files on the cloud, and know that there is no problem with our upload process.
Flickr is often mentioned here but does anyone use anything else, is it really good and what is the cost ?
If anyone is using PB without issues, I would love to know.
Thanks |

I use Photobucket but only with Firefox browser and without any problems. My safari browser and PB don't seem compatible for some reason. _________________ ROVER

Flickr is better than Photobucket in every way, but I'm Apple and they seem tied together, so everything is really fast, except posting images from an iPad. I think the problem is copyright issues.
However if you're using a computer, controlling and clicking on the selected image, after you've selected size, usually gives you the link you want.
On iPads (I've stopped using a computer) I use the App for everything, but posting where I open in Safari, select image size and tap web address box. This gives me the image address with JPG on the end and I can copy and post it. A few years ago it was much easier, but like copying music, copyright issues are making things more difficult. |

Hi
My free PB is nearly full so rather than paying for more I have now got a Post Image access.

Thanks Penman.
I am trying it here.
It was certainly fast and simple.
Thank you |

Well I can't make Photobucket work. I tried following the procedure on Old Classic Cars but the screen is completely different. I have previously used it with difficulty. The Morris Register website has a simple system similar to others as mentioned above. I gave up in disgust, it certainly does not qualify for the KISS principle. |

Apart from the obvious danger with any free hosting that they are also free to hold you to ransom like Photobucket I think Penman's choice of https://postimg.org/ is a good one.
It has a significant advantage over the free Photobucket in that you can very quickly scan through all your stored images whereas in PB you had to wade through pages of them rather slowly.

I can't recommend Flickr too highly, but then it does work automatically with Apple devices. It looks better and works better than than of the others I've tried and changes have been improvements.
I do nearly everything on an iPad or phone and rarely ever turn my MacBook Pro on. |

I'll second that. I've just uploaded an image and posted it in Historic Aviation; all completed painlessly in no time at all. _________________ David
