Denso tape is the current stuff, Very good by all accounts if used properly. To wit: dismantle springs completely, de-rust everything, protect and slather with copious amounts of grease. Re-assemble and then wrap.

I'm ever so glad that my car has no springs. Very Happy

Used Denso for years - messy to put but stays put for years and keeps in grease and water and grit out. Better than gaiters

Premtape is easier to obtain and is the same. EVOSTICK do some too

We used to wrap pipe flanges with denso tape to protect the bolts and the pipe went into a tidal river, always came out perfect.
I used a rubber coupling to marry a French soil pipe to an English pipe and wrapped the jubilee clips in denso, all buried underground, no doubt they will be rust free if ever removed.

I work on fuel pumps and pipe work at filling stations and dense is good stuff and extremely messy to use, so wear gloves. Places like BSS or Crosslings or any pipework fittings supplier should be able to get you some.

Denso tape works so well that I'm amazed the EU hasn't banned it yet.
