Yes the van is a full fiberglass shell ,from what I can see the floor boards are sat on beams set into the fiberglass skin ,there's been a lot of mouse activity and id rather pull it all up and clean it right out rather than just replace the rotten strip in the door opening .

Some new info has come to light and it seems there where only 6 of these wake fibrelight vans made 5 and a camper van where known and one missing ,which looks like the one ive dug out is the elusive missing van . Cool a new friend of mine is trying to find out more from the family of the chap who had the other vans ( who has sadly past on )
.resto will be moveing on soon I promise .

Slow progress at the moment ,I re dug out the van from its new resting spot got it jacked up and on stands with the wheels off ,it looks like the tyres have rubbed on the top of the wheelwell when we dragged it back ,so eather sagged suspension or incorrect size tyres( anyone know what size for a b&b chassis 13" wheels) . I'm going to get the bearings out and cleaned to inspect them and strip and clean all the brake mechs see what's going on with the damper so I can get the van movable . I also need to sort out where the jocky wheel pinch bolt has snapped off and see it i can source a jocky wheel and lower half to fit what ive got left .
Also gave the van a clean so it looks cared for again .

Did I little on the van tonight , ended up drilling out the screws holding the A frame cover to get it off . All the metalwork looks ok under there so started to lube and free off the mechanism ,to my amazement the brakes now work ,Il still strip and service them as i go along

Worked on the os brake and bearing tonight , sounds alot better . Looks like the shoes will need replacing.
How much force should it take to press in the tow damper? Mine now will press in reasonably easily and has started to return out now on its own . .

B&B hitch service information can be found on the Thomson caravan website
the hitch should be quite hard to push back and should only return very slowly // your damper may be shot new ones on ebay |

Checked both shockers on the van tonight ,seem to be firm and still operable. I was surprised how easy it was to remove the bolts after the chassis been buried twice now .
