Can you get hold of a radiator pressure tester? Pump it up to whatever your cap pressure is and leave it a while and monitor the oil drain for water. If you do get water in a cylinder it will hydraulic lock and won’t turn over.
Is the oil down the spark plug tubes because the tube seal have failed/hardened?

thanks for the advice, yes all holes will remain "open" while i run it with the Webasto heater - and I got a bottle of Tunarp.s cooling system sealer I can ad.

Hi all
I have been fiddling with the engine tonight.
Had a compression test done = all 8 had compression.
Two was a little lower, not next to eachother = third from front on each side.
Maybe thats the ones that have been left opened, so they have a bit of rust on the edge of the valvehead ?
Well still hope to het her started for her 40th jubilee - only 7 days away now. _________________ http://www.eurods.eu/wp/index.html |

Just got back from the garage, found 2-4 drops of water in the hubcap I had placed under the sump oil drain hole, after I poured half a liter of antifreeze into the engine the other day.
Funny thing was = it wasnt Blue like the antifreeze - it was just a little wet, so I filled her up to the neck of the radiator = 2.5 L more of antifreeze, and hot water to top it up.
We stayed for 6 more hours but not one drop came out of the drainhole, and nothing into the cylenders either.
Cranked her over several times, during the evening to see if any of the cylenders started to blow mist up the plug hole - but nothing.
Placed another / dry hubcap under the drain hole, before we went home. _________________ http://www.eurods.eu/wp/index.html |
