We do both the May and September events and we enjoy them. We have found though that these days there are plenty of empty pitches and more stalls with less proper autojumble.
Maybe its just a sign of the times, cost of pitches and the influence of online sales. _________________ Various Rootes Vehicles. |

In the late eighties / early nineties I always went to the September jumble. This was before the internet, and at a time when parts for old (60s) British cars were pretty hard to get in the Netherlands. On two occasions I even brought a trailer. Picked up front wings, complete exhausts, overdrive boxes and many many Girling brake parts. I still have many parts from that era.
The past two or three visits I found I did not buy much. Stalls got more commercial and specialists, less garage clearances. Still, a good way to spend the weekend. _________________ a car stops being fun when it becomes an investment |

I'll be there if I can, but I wish the organisers would go back to the old format of a field for cars and a field for motorcycles rather a than a higgledy piggledy set-up, it saves on the shoe leather!

I find very little spares from the 1930-50 era, the days of finding that sort of stuff has gone I think. I still enjoy the day out and drive down through the New Forest. _________________ Various Rootes Vehicles. |

I think you can ditch Netley Marsh on a Saturday replaced with Beaulieu. Very few stalls compared to yesteryear. Never mind the old song "Everyone's gone to the moon", they've gone to Beaulieu.
Had an excellent chat with the club members on the stand, put right on a couple of electrical points and getting the distributor overhauled by an expert. Picked up a couple of aeroscreens (luckily still at 2015 prices), they must jump up soon. Loads of other workshop necessities all at reasonable prices, but why oh why did I forget my hat!!! Bought a cap for £3:00 and looked like an extra from "Barwood builders!
Been 'off song' for a couple of months, the old D.&.A. playing up but the visit has kick started my enthusiasm once more.
We'll be there next year, possibly for both days.
Cheers, Tony. _________________ It may work in practice, but not necessarily in theory! |

We saw some signs for Netley Marsh Eurojumble, surprised the two events are on the same dates being so close together? _________________ Various Rootes Vehicles. |
