Jowett Motor Manufacturing Co. became Jowett Cars Ltd and established itself at Idle. Does that count? |

The Rover P4 in Cyclops form was launched later in 1949 as the 1950 model. The car, with some changes over the years, but still the same basic chassis and body, remained on the market until 1963 _________________ Dane- roverdriver but not a Viking. |

100 years since Citroen produced their first car bearing its name. Not to mention the 80th birthday of my Light 12! Maybe I will start work on it this year😳 _________________ Alistair

100 years since the first Bentley; I'm surprised there has not been any great publicity for either this or Citroen's centenary.. _________________ in the garage: 1938 Talbot Ten Airline

That sounds like a lot of big anniversaries that don't seem to be being publicised much!?! _________________ Various Rootes Vehicles. |

Another centenary this year, albeit rather less significant than Bentley or Citroen, is the 4-cylinder Austin Twenty:

50th Anniversary of the Jensen Interceptor Mk 2.
So what, you say?
Well it was much more than a "facelift" to the original model introduced in 1966, and was a massive leap forward in engineering terms for such a small specialist car company. _________________ 2000 Jaguar XJ8 4.0 LWB
