I think your early dash is so much nicer than the later one with the central speedo. Shame it was raining hope it didn't spoil the day. _________________ old tourer

Just a bit off topic. Rick. Q? Do you have business cards that feature the OCC website and forum ? |

Its funny we were discussing business cards at work the other day, years ago we all had them, these days they are pretty much redundant in all but electronic form.

Little to report on the Moggy front, as mentioned briefly in the "what did you do to your car today" thread, the dynamo began to make a rough noise which sounded like a bearing on the way out. I tried a couple of used dynamos that were on the shelf, but neither was any better, in fact the second one was noisier if anything. Asking around, a friend says that he has a factory re-con unit that I can use, so that should see the dynamo sorted out. Otherwise all seems well with the Morris.
Quite the bird-puller:

Always a shame to see those old garages demolished.

Hi
That one will just possibly be left to crumble away, it costs a fortune to remove and dispose of asbestos legally. _________________ Bristols should always come in pairs.

Up here in The Highlands a householder can legally dispose of quite a significant amount of asbestos-cement sheet such as that garage is made from. You have to apply for a free disposal permit and state when you will be transporting it. All the material has to be securely double-wrapped in thick polythene sheet and placed in a specified skip for disposal.
A few years ago, through clever organisation and a bit of good luck from a very reasonable local authority waste disposal office, I was able to get rid of an amount of this stuff that would have cost me around £20,000 to be removed professionally at the time. It paid-off on my gamble on buying an ex-prefabricated house at a bargain price.
What wasn't helpful was the sheer weight of the stuff that I had to soak very liberally with water in order to avoid any risk of dust. |
