Nice, looks pretty original.

There are a lot of nice aspects but as an early Minx fan there are a few things that just dont look right. _________________ Various Rootes Vehicles. |

I would have my doubts that the interior originally displayed quite so many retaining screws on the door cards etc.

I am not keen on the painted grill, it should be chrome and doesn't look right. I also don't agree with the black painted hub caps, I often think items that should be chrome only get painted to save money on re-chroming.
The dash looks out of place too, it is painted steel, I had one and it was a lovely dark rich brown that very much gave the impression it was Bakelite. _________________ Various Rootes Vehicles. |

...but it is described as being "totally original"..
With the state of the wiring (which is original) I would anticipate a fire... a chance to start again perhaps ??.
The guy is also selling a mini which looks like it has been fitted out with parts from some multi coloured swap shop.
My advise would be to steer well clear. |

Agreed, it looks they took the cheaper (blackened chrome, simple repaint of the dash) and easier (visible screws in the upholstery) options in the restoration. _________________ a car stops being fun when it becomes an investment |

Its a shame but maybe a good basis for more work, these Hillmans are much rarer than contemporary Austins/Fords/Morris's. _________________ Various Rootes Vehicles. |
