A bit trivial this but triggered by the bodge thread I thought I'd ask for the vehicle with the biggest badge. My thoughts were of the Mercedes autobuses that were very common in Paris. I couldn't find a photo of the type I remember but here's an older version.

I couldn't find a photo of the Paris autobuses that I remember seeing as late as the 1970s but they also had a Mercedes badge covering the full size of the radiator. I suspect the bus type in the photo would have been commonly seen in the 1930s.
I did wonder why Paris should have chosen Mercedes buses but it appears that I was wrong to label it as a Mercedes. This is a Renault-Scemia bus probably from the early 1920s.

Other sources suggest that these are of Schneider manufacture.
"Compagnie Generale des Omnibus (CGO), designed this new bus from a sophisticated PB2 Schneider chassis, equipped with a new engine called "H", studied and developed in its workshops, and a body modernized. The first bus H circulated on June 1, 1916 on the E Madeleine-Bastille line. 1,269 copies circulated in Paris. They were reformed in 1937. The Schneider H bus, donated by the RATP and rebuilt from an engine chassis, entered the Museum on 19 October 1959."

Not so big as the badge on that bus, but the 1971 VW Kombis had a large VW on the front panel

I'm quite happy to be shot down on this but I have a faint memory of a type of patent circular radiator fitted on several veteran and vintage bus types which had this Mercedes appearance. It is not I think intended to be such a badge at all but just looks like it!. _________________ Jonathan Butler
