This looks nice. One more reason why I am kicking myself for getting the MG TC. For what it has cost me so far and still nowhere near finished I could have had this. |

Not a fan of that Lagonda saloon. There's something off. Wheels look too small, head lamps too big, bonnet too long.

You'd have to be a diligent record keeper to know the total mileage, it appears to have a 4 digit odometer so a recalculation after every 9,999 miles _________________ Bristols should always come in pairs.

I think the front wings let it down. |

I bought my current 2CV in April 2002 with 71,000 miles on the clock. In the last 20 years I've taken it round the clock twice. It's now on 274,000. with the barrels and pistons replaced at exactly 249,900 miles. Having said that, it did just 1,300 miles between the last two MOTs. I intend to use it a bit more between now and the next MOT in September. _________________ 1989 2CV

Since my little two-seater Morris Minor returned to the road, just before Christmas 2020, I've managed to do around 7,500 miles. Back in June I pootled my way from Worcester to Norfolk, 185 miles, in around 9hrs. That was keeping off dual-carriageways wherever possible, with just one 2-mile section on the Tingewick by-pass. Over the long-weekend, Thursday to Monday, the little car did over 600-miles, trouble free. If I was in a rush, I know I could have easily knocked quite a few hours off the journey, but I was making regular stops at coffee shops and tea rooms. I did much more dual-carriageway driving on the way home, using the A11 and A505 from Thetford to Baldock.
When I lived in Shetland I used the 2CV once a year to visit family down in the Midlands. The best time I made from Aberdeen harbour to Worcester, 450 miles, was 7hrs 34mins. I never beat that in the modern, though I came close (7hrs 38mins) _________________ 1989 2CV

I agree, the green car is better looking. That said, Brian Savill is very well known in Lagonda circles so I am sure his is a very good car.

Not much to report since my last post but after two years pontificating I finally got round to getting LED lighting installed in my Lagonda. As you can see the colouration is a nice white, bright but not too brilliant, which I think looks good. They are so much brighter than the old bulbs and the front side lights, which are the original units, flash orange on the indicators but glow white as side lamps, clever eh? I also feel much comfortable with bright tail lamps and indicators and better brake lights at the back. Happy days...

One of our Morris Register Victoria Australia members used to work at Lagonda before WW2 and hand made mudguards and the like. During the war he flew Spitfires for the RAF.
He came to Australia after the war.
Unfortunately he passed away about 4 years ago, it was always interesting to listen to his stories of Lagonda cars. _________________ 1938 Morris 8 Ser II Coupe Utility (Pickup)
