Below is a photo of my late mum and dad having fun changing a wheel on what looks to me like a 1930s car. My dad was a motor mechanic by trade and would often take a day’s loan of a car in payment for some work he’d done on it. I’m struggling to ID the car and was hoping someone would know. The pic was probably taken around 1949.

Not much to go on there, but I can say with some certainty that it's a Tickford body. If I had to put a name to it, I'll go for an Armstrong Siddeley circa 1933.

The 6 wheel nuts was certainly an Armstrong Siddeley thing.

The rad mascot just visible also would seem like a good match to an AS.

Excellent answers. Thank you all very much. It might seem a bit daft to some but there comes a time in life when it somehow seems important to flesh out these old family pics we all have in albums and boxes.

You can probably see that we very much agree with you.

Try posting on the Armstrong Siddeley Facebook page if anyone in the club knows if it still exists or any known history. It's a very active group.
