I just don't see the point. It deserves to remain unsold.
I suppose it could be broken for parts? |

Why create such a poorly-fitting bonnet extension, and then pay for a 'professional respray'?

It is recorded on DVLA site, with the V8
Wholely inappropriate engine for that sort of car, in my book.
No mention of how the rear axle [or, back axle ?] has been uprated or changed? _________________ Dellow Mk2, 1951 built, reg 1952.

...if I might add...probably the best place for the 3.5 litre Rover V8 is either in a Rover,,, Range Rover,,, or ultimately a Morgan...
Morgan Plus 8. Now there's a car to be reckoned with...
I know it's a Buick engine but I like it. I wonder how many +4 Morgans have become +8s?? |

Many I suppose.
I d not have a problem by fitting another engine in a car (all Jensens have a non-Jensen engine), even Rover fitted the Buick engine as you say. Some Jaguars used Standard engines before WW2, many more examples to be found.
But it has to fit and not by making an awful extension to the front of the car!
Also I feel the engine should at least be from the same period the car was made. But all in my opinion, anyone can do what they like - which sometimes might result in these awful monsters! _________________ a car stops being fun when it becomes an investment |

Probably not that many....if any at all?
IIRC, before the Wawer, Morgan tried a Ford flathead V8 in the 4/4 chassis....Found it to be 'incredible' up the Morgan ''test hill'' out of Malvern.
The downside was, Ford wouldn't supply the 'right' V8 engine!
IIRC, also, I believe Morgan made a special for his daughter.... a drophead coupe which might have contained the flathead V8?
My memory isn't too good these days [is it really brown bin day?] and I haven't got my Morgan books to hand at resent, to check.
Morgans always used someone else's engines [and gearboxes, in the 4 wheelers]...Coventry Climax, followed by the ''Standard Special' motor [different to Jagwar's Standard engines]... Ford sidevalve [1172cc]...Triumph and Standard big engines [2.2 litre, 2 litre]...which upset Triumph's boss, as Morgans, with his engine, were faster than the Triumphs, and cheaper to boot.. Then there were the Ford OHV engines, crossflows, etc....FIAT twin cams, Rover V8s, etc etc etc....
Nowadays they are all a bit handbaggy for my tastes. _________________ Dellow Mk2, 1951 built, reg 1952.

The Plus 8 is basically a Plus 4 with a Rover V8.
Admittedly the chassis would need to be modified as per the original ... and the body widened slightly ... but I would think it is eminently feasible.
I expect the biggest difficulty would probably be getting it registered and insured. |

That's just it; they are not!
As it happens, there is room in the Wolseley engine bay for the Rover V8. Several conversions have been done quite well ...without the need for an extension. |

The Rover V8 is no longer than most straight 6 engines but it is wider. It has proven to be a very good engine fitted to many car makes as original. _________________ 1938 Morris 8 Ser II Coupe Utility (Pickup)
