Take a trip around the block in a 1946 MG TC ...across the pond. Very Happy

Its weird being the same age as old people.
You are either part of the problem or part of the solution

I certainly hope so, Keith. Since your visit I have been working on the rear wings and running boards. The annoying thing is what I describe as tram lines. You think they have gone only for them to re-appear through the paint.!

I suppose it is only to be expected with hand made panels. Very Happy

Those drums were probably screaming at being described as "aluminum".

No doubt a new element discovered in the "labratory".

I knew there was more to this so I dug out a bit of history.

As it happens, the drums are likely to be of the "Alfin" type; similar to the ones I have fitted. Originals TC drums are made from steel and can fade badly. Alfin drums are cast iron with aluminium cooling fins on the outside. They are reputably transformative which might account for him being so impressed by them. At £500 a corner they need to be good!!!
