I recently had to change my modern, and the choice came down to what was available locally for not too much cash; I ended up getting cheap road tax as a bonus so I'm not complaining. Ended up with a 2010 Vauxhall Astra, OK for what I need it to do but there's a major flaw - any amount of open window combined with any amount of rain results in an annoying drip onto my right arm.
I know you can get plastic guard thingies to go on the outside of car windows to deflect rain and draughts from the top of the window, but what are they actually called, so that I can try to track some down online? Because I don't know the name of what I'm looking for google hasn't been much help...
It has to be VERY cold for me to want to drive without a window open so I would love to find an NOS set of these things! |

I put a pair of these on my Driving School V40 back in about 2007-8.
They are still there and of such quality that I was able to get the makers name of their sticker.
They are clear ones so don't increase the size of the A post so far as drivers vision is concerned/
I only got a front window pair and I don't remember anyone in the rear seats mentioning rain dripping in, I think it is the A posts without gutters that cause it at the front.
On the Volvo there is no special fitting required they just spring into position.

I've fitted Climair deflectors to a number of vehicles:

Thank you, gentlemen, that looks like a good starting point. I don't think I need anything on the rear windows as the last time I had a rear seat passenger in any car was back in 2020 before coronavirus kicked off... |

On my 21 YO Suzuki GV 4 door, I find that cracking open the rear window on the driver's side drastically reduces the inwards draught of the open driver's window [I too, prefer to drive with the window fully open...really annoys my son, who cannot hear his music in his earbuds...]
Dunno why, not being an aerodynamicist... _________________ Dellow Mk2, 1951 built, reg 1952.
