As a matter of little interest, I used to live near Bucklers Park (Crowthorne) which was home to the Transport Research Laboratory. They were at the time World leaders in vehicle safety.
The site was eventually sold off for housing. |

It would make sense I guess... seatbelts were being fitted from IIRC 1965, but using them was still optional until several years later. |
