Hi
Does anyone have any copies of the English Mechanic & World of Science newspaper around the turn of the last century, i.e... 1900?
Does anyone know where any are, that I could perhaps see, or purchase?
Cheers

Sorry buzzy, can't help here.
Didn't that magazine have plans for a car about 1900, one or two were built and still survive. So, was the PF just a trial run for the big one

Hi
Yeah they did have plans for various "afordable" vehicles. I think 2 or 3 petrol ones and 1 steam version survive.
Thought it would be nice to have a look at the plans, maybe one day one day!
Cheers

Dave,
Through the wonders of Google I found your enquiry and this forum!
I have a complete set of English Mechanic (1865-1926) which I have scanned in and I have published as facsimile on 14 DVDs. Here is the web site, http://www.englishmechanic.com do you have any idea what you want? They printed plans for the very first build it yourself car, which covered many weekly issues, there was also the steam car, a delivery van.
Regards.
Eric.

Hi I saw this thread yesterday, it was such a coincidence that I thought I should register. I spent yesterday morning removing the cylinder from a 1900 English Mechanic car (3 1/2 hp single cylinder) ! |

Hi
This sounds very interesting, was it you who took part in the Brighton?
Have you got any pictures, and any information on it, I would be very interested to hear more!
Oh, how rude of me, Welcome to the forum!
Cheers
