As an edit to this post I found a ford 'Eiffel' from 1939 on auction also at a much more reasonable price, which one would you buy?

Obviously not UJ unless it's to do with taxation of older vehicles etc?

As someone I know who lives in Germany told me, car road tax increases as the car gets older. So therefore the ones that legally drive classics tend to be wealthy. Which in its turn means that they have a tendency to pay more for classics...hence the price in the example... Shocked

So to buy the 1939 example would actually be more expensive than the 1953 one tax wise Confused
Well if the wealthy buyers would like to buy a not very presentable old Pop from me for 10,000 also I'm sure I can find them several, in the meantime I'll buy all their 1939 examples they have if they sell them so cheaply Very Happy

As I understand things, yes.

I'll be mailing my friend later, so I'll ask for clarification.

My friend just got back to me on the german taxes. My 300 from 1965 would cost approx. 2 000 Euro a year for tax alone....so I would have to be very rich to afford it there! It doesnt even go off weight, so I wonder how much the Pops would cost there being so old.....
