yes dalbuie guessed rightly!!
not much in common with Monaco, only the initial!!!
The BMC076 plate is a personalized one which only cost me Lm30, ie 70 euros in around 2000/2001
A frined of mine has BMC064 on his 1071S
Then there are various others in the club like Min177, Min188, Min169, Coo 998, MKI 998 and others I just cant remember offhand!! |

Ahh I could think of a few more nice weather--and more of it--nice beaches--but then I am from the north and LOVE summer
your friends plate is on a 1964 then? I have a friend with a Almond Green 1071S from 1964
its nice with the plates, I actually had mine on the green car for 4 years, then one day at a mini meeting I was told that John Cooper shortened he,s name that way also, funny that the plate ended up on a mini -- _________________ http://www.eurods.eu/wp/index.html |

Oh yes you had JC on one of your minis right?
This 1071S is quite rare as the original colour was fiesta yellow which wasnt common even way back when they were new!!
Undergoing restoration back to original at the moment!!
JCT may I ask you whether on the reshelled S do you have mark 3 doors?
And if so what hinges have u used to 'create the illusion' ?
Id like to do the same to mine!! |

Hello again I took external hinges, and put them on with thick body shaped washers on the back of door/Apanel, on my car this works, as I have cut out ALL inside the door, and have plastic windows, but if you build the car from start with this modefication, then you can weld in the original Apanel support, and make a plate for inside door (MK III) my problem was that I didnt do the door conversion, until 6 years after it was painted.
The MK II door will not fit later body, and so now you know its MUCH easier to do on a unpainted car, and it REALLY helps to recreate the oldtype look but dont forget windows he he people look at the hinges, and then they check for sliding windows and say YES thats an old one. _________________ http://www.eurods.eu/wp/index.html |

Oh I wasnt intending to that much, I prefer to leave the door as is than, only wanted to bolt on the hinges to the same door just for the look but I am not going through all that trouble just for the look!!
After all it will never be a mark 1 just the same!!
Will have to save up for a real mark 1 some day!!! If SWMBO will not have anything to say against another purchase!!! |

I dont think I've got any of it before I am sorry but I'll ask the owner next time we have a meet!!
It has belonged to him for over 20 years and was previously blue, then racing green but this time it will go back to fiesta yellow!! |

Cool - always nice to see the REAL McCoy , Fiesta Yellow is such a nice colour
I got a "new" MINI for my collection yesterday I finally found the last colour in the Spanish Exin produced Scalextric series so now I have all 5 colours, as you can see in the off topic section do I collect these old slot racers also. _________________ http://www.eurods.eu/wp/index.html |
