Absolutely no cheating permitted. You must not rearrange anything.

640TMP You have spanners hanging on hooks I bet you have thought of painting black silhouettes on the wall so you put them back in the right place
OK I will prove how bad mine is with pictures tomorrow, I would do it now but I would break my neck in the dark, and yes Phil, I can find everything.......eventually _________________ 1964 International Harvester |

Aha! You people make me so happy! When I do a tidy I'm ruthless, but the regime is a monthly 'go around' and an annual 'big one'. The former is practical and purposeful rather than pristine while the latter event is usually over the Christmas holiday, so doubles as therapy!
I also subscribe to a magazine called Model Engineers' Workshop, if you want to see pictures of ultra clean workshops have a look there, spooky I say, what's wrong with a bit of dust? |

The spanners hanging on hooks are the metric ones I never use. If I want a 1/2 inch ring, for example, I have to spend 10 minutes hunting through various toolboxes, the floor, bench, and under the car. I know where everything is.... _________________ Richard Hughes |

Good grief - how do you guys ever find anything and how long does it take to find a bit of space to put something on the bench to work on it?
This is mine - and it wasn't specially tidied up for the photos. Because everything has its place, a tidy up at the end of the day only takes a few minutes, time that is saved the next day as I can put my hands on whatever I need.
All constructed from old kitchen units and worktops and filing cabinets that were being thrown out of an office I once worked in. The red mobile tool box was a present from my family several years ago, so it could be said that everything was free.
On the opposite side I have another bench for household diy bits (paint, brushes, etc) note the pile of tiles and adhesive ready for the utility room, they have been there for over a year!.
But 30ft of car space and 3ft of diy, shows my preference!
I hope I am not the only one who prefers to work in such surroundings. _________________ Brian

Yes, I know it doesn't look very efficient. It's really just a hankering to relive the garages of old such as..
