As it happens we past this Butty caravan only on saturday 24th.
I was born in Wellington Shropshire and use the A49 when travelling from my home in S.Wales
This caravan has been there for as long as I can remember , it looks like an old Pilot which might figure since really the old Pilot works was in Oakengates so not far up the road!
The cars a little gem too! |

Thanks for the location.
I was a few miles south from this. I was travelling north but I turned off a few miles past Ludlow to go to Knighton. _________________ Keep Torqueing,

this is a pilote van from oakengates works, i have spoken to the previos owner and he says it was built for the police force as a 'on site' unit van in the late 50's early 60' originally it had two entrance doors but now it only has the one. nice to see it still being used though!
if you travel further south on the a49 just passed ludlow there is another butty van on the left hand side this is a pemberton caravan made in wigan from the same time, next time i pass i will snap a pic plus a bacon butty !! |
