Thanks for the link, Peter, but alas, I get a message 'Not available in your area'.
I would have loved to have seen that documentary. I can just remember visiting London in late 1949, prior to the family heading for Glasgow to board ship for Australia. I remember seeing building rubble in many areas, and in one place, through a gap in a fence, seeing a three or four storey building that looked as if it had been sliced in half with a knife- curtains at windows, pictures on the walls and furniture in place. _________________ Dane- roverdriver but not a Viking. |
