|
|
Hello learned gentlemen,
I have made the decision to "up" my 8hp E494a to 12v as she is being rebuilt anyway. I also want to fit a screw on oil filter kit as it can only help with a daily driver.
My problem, I need to find out whether a 12v dynamo from a 100e will fit on top of the block in the position her standard dyno occupies ?????
I realise bracketry will need sorting, but thats OK......the reason I want to mount it on top of the block is that the Oil filter kit sits on the side of the block were other 12v dyno conversions place the larger dynamo......
I would love to hear any answers, suggestions or ideas
Regards,
Shane |

.
In most cases its very simple.
Get some longer bolts of the correct diameter.
Get some nuts and washers that slide easily in to your new bolts.
Best if you also get another adjuster.
Use the longer bolts to mount the new dynamo loosely.
Line up the pulley wheels.
Mostly adjusters need a bit of bodging, and perhaps a gob of weld to sort things.
Work out what washers you need to use to locate the 12v dynamo.
Fit the washers.
Tighten nuts.
Change voltage regulator to 12v.
Most cases, it's a simple as that.
At a later date, get an engineer to machine you some good looking spacers.
Fit spacers.
Kind Regards, WLC |
