I can't believe this is taking so long. Rough cut for the carpets and get the seats mounted.
The headliner will be next, ooh I can't wait. Give me an engine to rip apart any day. _________________ 1936 Morris 8 Series 1

Carpet is in, just the gearbox tunnel to cover. Seats in, rear wing mounted, runningboard supports fitted, all electrics work (trafficator sluggish), headliner half in. I drove it under it's own steam today. - Great! I drove it towards the Midget and suddenly realised I had not tested the brakes.
Setting the tension on the sewing maching is not easy, but practise makes, err, better. The edging is only pushed in at the moment. A few beers and bed, roll on tomorrow. _________________ 1936 Morris 8 Series 1

Ray do you need any trousers let out? I feel I am getting in touch with my feminine side then I think b*****ks, give me an oily spanner and a hammer.
Thanks for the encouragement, not long now! _________________ 1936 Morris 8 Series 1

Sometimes I get a bit confused. What hat should I wear?

Stig of the Dump maybe. I was mounting the running board but the rear wing was too far gone to bolt it to so I had to replace part of it.
A bit of smoothing then start to mount the boards. It's getting close now.
My partner Pat has just bought another car where are we going to put it? _________________ 1936 Morris 8 Series 1

Hi Ray, it's a cebora pocket Mig. Even set on lowest it still blows holes through the old metal if I try to do runs so I just spot along at approx 15mm gaps then fill in bit by bit. A bit slow but it seems (no pun) to work. The running boards are now both fitted, It took longer to do that than rebuild the engine (in hours). Just 2 tyres to fit and the head liner then nut and bolt check.......................MOT. _________________ 1936 Morris 8 Series 1

It passed the MOT today, but was missing quite badly. It was running very rich so I swapped the float bowl from another carb and it is running a lot better. I will finish the rebuild while it is on the road. _________________ 1936 Morris 8 Series 1

Well done Nick
Must be something to do with the MOT that makes a car reluctant.
Mine did the same on the way to the MOT station, had to replace the coil in the middle of Maldon high street, consequently was late and just had to sit there till he could fit me in.
Three hours later MOT'd then blew the head gasket on the way home

Perhaps the cars get "nerves" before an MOT. _________________ 1936 Morris 8 Series 1
