Anyone used weld through primer, were you happy with it, what make was it?. I read somewhere that you cant actually weld through it which makes a mockery of the name, is this true?.

I've used with both a spot welder and a mig and have had no trouble welding through it and as michael1703 says it gives you some peace of mind knowing there is at least something covering the metal which you may no longer be able to get to. |

bit late on this one as I managed not to have power to the laptop!
However I can confirm that the stuff exists, and you can weld with it on the metal.
The place were we have our shot/bead blasting done, if you want, will spray the metal immediately in comes out with a weldable primer, which we have welded through when repairs were required. (some non-structural parts on the two coal waggons we rebuilt some months back).
Unfortunately, I can't remember the product name!
