This is the first year that Hall Farm has had a car show and it did show. The car park was a field that had been harvested and it had some pretty huge ruts in it and was very dry and dusty. As late classic car comers were put in the car park they could have parked us up by the entrance but we were coralled at the back of the car park. The cars only had numbers on them so you had to buy the catalogue to get the details of the cars. At £8 entrance and £1 for the catalogue it was not too much. While I was there a chap was asking the exhibitors for a volantary contribution, this was for the St Nicholas Hospice Care. So after spending buckets of cash on our cars, spending countless hours working on them then filling our tanks with petrol to get them there and giving up a day to stay with our pride and joys they employ emotional blackmail for more of our cash. I would like to decide who gets my donation. The toilets were outside the show ground and the beer tent was a joke, 5 people struggled to serve 1 customer.
However the setting is very picturesque and it is a lovely place to take a picknick. There were some very nice cars and no Naylors . There was a truck/stage where some good bands did there stuff and I enjoyed the music. The usual suspects turned up and a lot of new faces. I enjoyed the drive through some beautifull Suffolk countryside and it was a relaxed atmosphere, a well spent chunk of the day.

Interesting Nic - I have some doubts about the nature of some of the exhibits being a natural cynic - certainly the Bugatti in the rear of some of the photos looks a little shall we say unusual however its all part of the fun.
You don't see many of those latter day Healey remanufactures either - think its only the second I have seen.
Oh and I can't see the number plate on the Alvis 12/50 next to you so can't check it in my records to see if its a sports chassis or touring etc although it has the 1923-7 low headlamps and lower radiator. _________________ Jonathan Butler

Sorry Jonathan, I checked the other photos and no number for the Alvis, BTW next to it is an early 20's Talbot then a Hispano Suiza with a wood and fabric saloon body. The Alvis is quite long and narrow. _________________ 1936 Morris 8 Series 1

No need for apologies Nic - the Talbot may be a 8/18 but is more likely to be a 10/23 the later version. Not enough visible to be sure sorry. _________________ Jonathan Butler
