What do you people think about HVLP spray systems, I was thinking of buying such a system to spray components like wheels, petrol tanks and the like, surely it'd be cheaper than buyin spray cans in the long run, probably could be used to patch up bodywork as well, but would it be pushing it too much trying to do a whole car with it?

I had one of the first Apollo Spray units (http://www.apollospray.co.uk/). It was OK, but the gun was cheap and nasty and didn't use standard compressed air fittings so I could't buy a better one. I don't know if there's a standard HVLP fitting, but make sure whatever you buy is compatible. |

imfinlay, did the system work fine though, I mean when spraying, was it consistent and keeping on flowing?
what was the orange peel like?
And wasn't it possible to find an adapter for use with a better gun?
D4B, is that only the gun though? |
