Hello everyone,my name is Al i have just joined the forum to learn as much as i can before i get my first classic resto project, well as soon as funds permit.
I have always been more into motorbikes but sadly my health isn't all it could be anymore so i find myself unable to ride bikes at the ripe old age of 44,so as i have always loved older cars i thought i would get another classic.
I had a Triumph herald 1200 a few years ago which i regret selling to this day
Anyway that's enough of my rambling i just wanted to say hello |

There are a lot i would love to own Rick but until i get my bike sold none i can afford lol.I would like another Triumph herald,i still miss the 1200 i had a few years ago.Ford 100e's are a favourite Hillman super minx i like the look of.A guy was interested at one point in swapping my bike for a Morris 10 series 4 which i would love but he seems to be messing me around a little,so i wilhave to just wait and see and hope on that one. |

Thanks for the welcome mate,as i said i still regret getting rid of my Herald 1200 convertible it was a red 1964 one with full service history,i was a total idiot to get rid of it but at least it went to a good home, the guy that bought it is the secretary of the Triumph gt6 club, like you i really like the super minx's |

When its back together let me know. I just might be interested. I had a Yamaha V-Max trike a few years ago - absolute blast. I am planning to get my bike licence proper and them maybe a 2-wheeler. I have short fat hariy legs so the low seat height would be a bonus!
If you want to get to see some nice local classics, come along to the Griffins Head pub in Papplewick (damn - now revealed why I'm "Papple") on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of each month (next one a week today...). There are about 150 cars turn up from 6.00pm onward. Some modern stuff, some old but mostly 60's 70's and 80's.
On the alternative weeks (that means tonight in fact) the Little John pub in Ravenshead puts on a more modest meet. Its only just begun infact and primarily by a group called Notts About Minis (Mini enthusiasts methinks!!) but is open to all.
You never know, you might get offered a bargain.
I wont be at the Little John togight due to weather but hope to be at the Griffins next time so please say hello.

Thank you very much for the info about the Griffin's head Ken,i will certainly get down one of these weeks and have a look.I will let you know as soon as the bike is back together but it will still need a little tidying ( just being honest ) i have no idea when that might be.To be totally honest with you i have lost interest in it a bit with not being able to ride it
Are you going to the show at R/R in Hucknall on sunday Ken ? I am going with the brothers in law for a look round, not sure how much the admission cost is though as i have never been to that one
