Spotted this small caravan today, it's been sitting in this front garden for years.
A virtual pint to the first person to correctly identify it (I have no idea myself, but it would look good behind the A35)

He He!
It's a MKII Sprite Cadet launched towards the end of 1971
8ft long and designed to be towed by the smaller car such as a mini of the day
I myself owned a 1970 MKI version which had a bubble roof top which you could open up or take off - basically a very large sunroof so to speak
The MKII version also had more rounded lines to it's shape
Drinking that pint in virtual reality! _________________ Remember - Practice makes perfect! |

Richard. Can I have a virtual half?
Yes, it is a Sprite Cadet, but I found this post too late to claim the full pint .

Oh well ok Jim, as I'm feeling generous!
Here's another one, terrible picture I know, but I think I'm right in saying this is a MK1 Cadet? (it's much smaller than it looks in that picture).

Sorry I'm going to have to claim that pint again
This time you've brought us a 1964/65 Sprite 400. Another best seller in the Sprite range from 1960 to 1976. It was a 4 berth van in a 10ft body. Sprite later produced a Sprite Colt and both models were very similar ie body length and layout where the same but the Colt was the basic model and come without front corner steadies a one piece door rather than a stable type, fixed side windows and no gas bottle carrier on the A-frame. Caravanners of the time had to place the gas bottle into one of the cupboards under the kitchen unit where the gas pipe was then connected to the cooker. Of course in a 10ft body there was no toilet in either model.
Layout wise there is a settee running along the full width under the front window with hammock bunk above, wardbrobe to the right of the door as you enter, small kitchen opposite and a double dinnette making a double bed for mum and dad at the rear.
Next one please!

Only one more I have to hand. Old Van Man reckoned he had the answer back in 2009 when I spotted it, what do you think?

Richard
Here is a picture of my 1970 Sprite Cadet with the door and the awning at the rear. Notice the squarer shape of the body compared to the MKII model and the very large bubble top roof
I travelled all the way to Belgium to collect this and had it for a couple of years until my collection of caravans were getting too big and some had to go, 4 vans in storage and one at home was a bit too many. The decision to sell the Sprite was that it was just too small and basic to have a decent holiday in!
Your other picture looks to be a Coventry Steel Knight late 1940's model. A bit before my time perhaps some older members might know the exact year and model

Nope sorry that's not a Carlight.
It's the baby T125 sister of my larger F1475
This is a 12ft 2 berth tourer which looks to be made around 1972/73

Ah yes the Cadet MK2 was launched in late 70 not 71 Dave - the MK1 you had was a great little tourer - shame you parted company with it. There is a MK2 in a front garden in Sutton Coalfield though some one has added a massive big box on the Aframe! It lasted to 1973 - Cadet name then used in 78 for cheaoer CI range than Sprite. Ah yes the Colt only lasted from 68 to 69 - a 400 but more basic!
The old van in green ia Paladin Trailervan - poss 1949/50 was it at an old dealer in Norfolk?
