I rebuilt these from a pair of custom low rider '57 diecasts.
Larger one is 1/24 scale and the other is 1/64.
Other cars that I have owned that I now have in diecast or plastic model kits are.......
1940 Dodge truck,
1955 Chevy Bel Air
1965 VW Beetle
1966 Chevy Chevelle
1971 Ford Mustang
FED dragster |

I'd love to have a model of the Firenza, but it's not easy. There's the old Lone Star model of the flat-front model, but they change hands for a fair bit of money in decent condition. Thoroughbred Models did a larger one, and they're quite expensive too.
I bought a slot-car kit of a HP Firenza with wide-arch kit off eBay, but it's a pretty bad moulding, the rear of the car in particular is quite poorly shaped so it will take some work to make it look right. |

Have a lot of Studebaker diecast and model kits but no '42, '47, or '64!
I'll have to start threads on the new Lionel o-gauge train layout and also 1/32 slot car layout that I've been building once they are a little farther along. Granddaughters are keeping me busy! |

Mine aren't particularly difficult to obtain, so I have quite a few diecast minis, even once I haven't owned like coopers, travellers, vans etc.
Nothing for the hunter yet! And having had a clubman estate in the past wouldn't mind having a die cast one!! |

I've got just three diecasts at the moment:- Isetta Bubble car, Frogeyed Sprite and Mini Moke. At some time I need to add: Triumph Herald convertible, Mini saloon, Mini Clubman, MGB GT, Ford 100E van, Ginetta G15, Lotus Elan, Lotus Europa, Morris 1800, Mk111 Cortina Estate. They start to get a bit too modern after that! |

3 models here representing my FL1 Austin Metropolitan Hire Car first registered 15th Feb 1951. Curiously the same day of the same month was destined to be My Son's Birthday. Though of course when I first drove the FL1 in 1956 I was not even courting.
The black ones are a Dinky and a Dinky Dublo converted from FX3 Taxis by filing off the Meters and top sign and fitting a door made of plasticard (many years ago). No FL1 model was made then.
The two tone one is an Oxford 1:57 model bought recently
The MG TF is a Corgi which closely resembled my Gentry (or is it the other way round?) before I reprayed it in two tone blue for its 21st Birthday.
The smaller cars usually reside on my son's model railway. Being to the same scale.
Jim.

I guess this one's really a cheat as I don't own it nor have I ever built or found a model of my car to buy.
Peter
If I could I would buy this one though..

Over the years I've converted and repainted many models to look like my real cars, such as Corgi LWB Series 1 Land Rover to SWB (cut and shut!) and Corgi Mini to Wolseley Hornet (body filler boot extension and grill off an old yesteryear) but was fortunate enough to be contacted by Brooklyn (Lansdowne) models a couple of years back who wanted to come and measure up the Railton to produce a 1/43 model of one.
Excellent I thought, they even offered me a freebie when they entered production and in due course an excellent model turned up. I was a bit surprised by the colour though, I'd sort of assumed it might have been black, but presumably they were due to produce something in green, and green it is!
It's such a delightful model, I've not had the heart to do a repaint, but the original will certainly be staying black! _________________ cheers

They recently produced a model of the Riley Adelphi. The car they based it on was black with cream wheels, the model was grey with blue wheels but they painted one in the original colours specially for the owner.
My own Riley is a '63 One-Point-Five. I've eleven One-Point-Five models but none are in Bermuda Blue and most are Mks or Mk2s (mine's a Mk3). |
