My friend is looking to buy a 1974 Triumph Stag. He's a tall chap at 6ft 7in and we went to view a car last week but he struggled to sit it the car without the top of his thighs touching the steering wheel..even with the seat fully back. I know that there is an "up and down" adjustment on the steering column but have read that there is a way of adjusting the steering wheel backwards and forwards. Does anyone know how this adjustment is done and (long shot) is there a Stag owner near Worthing, West Sussex who would let Robert try out the seating position in a car with a working seat? Cheers. _________________ Rust Junky & oil addict. |

My mate Dan's Dad has got a Stag, recently restored, if he wants to try it. They're in Worthing and he's a used car dealer (and in no way dodgy ).
I believe there should be a lumped ring between the steering wheel and the column which you can twist and undo, allowing you to pull it out, then tighten the ring back up again. I think. Possibly
Could try the local Triumph group, that I go to in Petersfield, as the AO has a Stag which he normally brings.
