Hi, New to this site. I just purchased a Rover, Looking for info and the best place to get parts. I have a question, the title I recieved with the car states it's a 1959 P4 100. The VIN is C650000830. Is this the right year for this car? All info I find is that the 100 came out in 1960. Jim |

Hello Jim
My 100 is a 1959 model as well so don't worry.
I would also take Phil's advice and join the P4 forum and club, and you'll also soon find out his advice on anything Rover related is unrivalled.
I hope you enjoy the car as much as I do.
Graham. |

Hi
A lot of manufacturers announce and start selling the next years model at the Motor show.
ie My uncle used to have a '36 Riley which was the actual '35 show car.
So Rover might have been selling the P4 100 in Nov or Dec '59 but calling it the 1960 model, which information has found it's way into all the reference papers _________________ Bristols should always come in pairs.

Rover's financial year and model year ran from the previous 1st September in common with many car manufactuers so they could be ready for the Earls Court Motor show in October for new models and the August holiday total production shut down allowed a rebuild and test of new assembly lines
1959 models were thus available from Sept 1958 along with run-out 1958 models which were sometimes upspecced to current model year if remaining unsold too long
Thanks for the compliment Graham although I do know more about P5's! _________________ Rover P2

You're very welcome Phil, especially after all the help you've given me since I've owned my Rover.
