Those of us who have an interest in Classic commercial vehicles realize that in their day when they were new, most were just ordinary work vehicles.
The fact that they are rarer and have survived at all helps them on the road to becoming a classic. But they all had to start somewhere which is why me and a few others have started a forum dedicated to the little Subaru work horse pick-up (and farmers friend the world over). Known by differant names wherever it was sold but commonly as the MV1800 , Brumby or probably most famous the BRAT. It is now becoming rare. So if you see a good example I urge you to save a MVBRUMBYBRAT NOW ! and if I have aroused your interest ? and you want to know more, then visit us at
www.mvbrumbybrat.co.uk

thanks for the pic Mike. "MO"

I've noticed a very tidy one of these driving around locally in the last few months, must try and get a snap of it sometime.

According to the DVLA there are just over 500 road registered and another 500 SORN,d. But checking through the records the numbers have dropped fast over the last 10 years. I bought another one a while back . A 1987 with 37,000 on the clock. I find they are a good little daily driver but they do like a drop of juice. They were popular all over the world (and still are). I started a FLICKR account to collect pics of them too, have a look here...

I still say get one while you can (and the're cheap) Very Happy "MO"

Hi Mo, no plans to sell anything here!!! funnily enough I thought of this thread yesterday when I saw one of these Subarus on ebay for a relatively modest sum.

Haha I meant photo... not rid of LOL (or did you know that Wink ) I told you ... Get one now while they are still cheapish. In my opinion... I think they are a great little truck (wish I had bought one new about 1994 when they were being knocked out cheap to make way for more Imprezas Rolling Eyes ). I am making up for it...... "MO"
