For some reason apart from the Siddely Special all the pre war A-S seem to be disregarded and rarely seen. I know the 12/6 was the usual gutless small 6 but apart from that why? They were well engineered after all. I rather liked the post war Hurricane 2 examples of which I saw derelict at Keele University in the late sixties. _________________ Jonathan Butler

Cracking looking motors. I came across an Armstrong Siddeley 234 stuck outside a garage nr Craven Arms in Shropshire a couple of years ago and made contact with a guy who saved it and commenced a restoration. Have since lost touch with him but would be great to hear how it is going. |

it maybe survival rates are lower of 950 16hp produced there are only 12 on the road and regarding my town and country limo there are only 3 known survivours none on the road wheras post war cars have a better chance of survival |

First class collection and sorry to see your disaster but a really good job in restoring it especially the rocker cover - well done.

an update on my A.S motors my lovely 1955 saphire 346 now needs repairs to the front bumper and n/s/f wing following an argument with a badger and as the paintwork is over twenty years old and starting to show its age will have a full respray and new carpets fitted and possibly electric power steering
my 1939 16hp ran very well over the weekend despite over heating 3 times still managed to cover just over 200 miles so gone into garage for investigation and to have a temp gauge fitted and small service carried out |
