You did indeed Richard, missed that post.
May I now add George Gently's P5B and his sargeant's blue MGB?
But I also remember Martin Shaw messing about with a green Morris Traveller. Could that have been in his Judge Deeds mode? |

Hi
Presumably the Wolseley's appeared in all Raymond Francis's Lockhart series', Murder Bag, Crime Sheet and No Hiding Place.

Linda Thorson as Tara King in the Avengers drove an AC428 and later a Lotus Europa.
I don't remember the AC but I remember the Europa in the series. _________________ Starting Handle Expert

I just bought the series "Foyle's War"on dvd,and The police car appears to be a Wolseley, though I'm not sure of the model(25?)
There are very few private cars of course, but plenty of wartime commercials.
Did Z cars ever have mk2's?I thought only mk3 Zephyrs.
Didnt the original landlady of the Rovers Return in Coronation st.supposedly have a Rover P6?
I do remember Ken's grandfather being very upset with him for buying a VW Beetle.
The Draper,Leonard somebody, had a Morris 1000 woody, and the "rag" factory owner Mike had an XJ6 jag, either mk2 or 3.That's probably about the time I stopped watching coro st.
Also,in the still current series "new tricks",Dennis Waterman drives a lovely green Triumph Stag.
Back to movies, who remembers the Toyota 2000 sportscar Bond got in one of the 60's movies?A very rapid car at the time, and rare. |

Yes poodge, I think Z Cars started in 1962 or 3 so my recollection of MKII should be right.
You have me beat on Inspector Lockhart though. You Tube confirms it's a Wolseley but I recalled a Humber Snipe. |

Carry on Cabby with their mk1 cortinas. Was it an old austin PEG1 that Charles Hawtrey drove.
Cannon the american detective I think drove a Lincoln though I am not sure.
and not forgetting the lovely Rover on Stone of Destiny and the marina on Crimewatch
and the old buses and Blakeys mini on On the Buses.
There must be loads of commercial vehicles as well and plenty of adverts as well. _________________ The Clan Chieftain |

And more currently, the Alvis TE21 driven by Stephen Fry in "Kingdom":

Gosh Graham! You are fairly reviving these old threads.
Inspector Alleyn Mysteries
1937 SS Jaguar. Interestingly the car he uses originally belonged to William Lyons' wife, Gretta and is now part of the Daimler Jaguar Heritage Collection.

Hi Peter,
I have just been granted access, so I thought that I would work my way through all of the threads to get an idea of what topics are/have been discussed. _________________ "The distinguished car, with just a little more power than you will ever need." DANIELS - Reading, Pennsylvania: 1916-24 |

Doesn't ring a bell, I only remember him having a Boxster in those.
Also there was "Chancer" back in the 80s, starring Clive Owen, Leslie Phillips and load of other people, some of it is set in a hand-made car factory intended I think to be thought of like Morgan. |

Yes, yes! 'Chancer' is coming back to me from the dark depths. I agree it must have been based on the Morgan family although AIRC the car used was a Merlin kit.
As for Martin Shaw and the Moggy..... I picture him greasing a wheel bearing with his tie tucked into his shirt. If not Judge Deeds then not sure what. |

Bit of research on Wiki.... I think Shaw and the Moggy may have appeared together on a series called 'The Chief' |
