I started taking my son, aged 9 out fishing during lockdown. It was as much about getting him off his Xbox and out in the fresh air!
He's now quite keen and looking forward the weather warming up as he doesn't like sitting there in the cold! _________________ Various Rootes Vehicles. |

Northern Soul music on Vinyl. I have a pair of Stanton decks, amp and mixer in my garage, but as it's 40'x12.5' I only have 400 watt speakers hooked up. We have a Northern Soul and Motown club locally and since last March's lockdown take it in turns to play a set every night over Facebook. It has help keep us together, and sane (ish). _________________ 1974 Mk1 Escort. |

I'm quite into photography, but I have been neglecting it over the last few months. Many years ago I used to develop and print my own stuff (b&w only) and probably still have all the stuff somewhere. When it came to buying a digital SLR I picked Pentax so that I could make use of the lenses I already had for my Pentax film SLR. Pretty much all I've done since then is buy replacements, though.
I'm sort-of into model railways, too. I had a OO-scale layout in my bedroom when I was a kid, and while the board went somewhere years ago I do still have all the track and rolling stock. As I've got into car boot sales, I've also been buying stuff when it's cheap, which is more often than you might expect. I have a fairly large shed that I restore the cars in, and I figured it would make a nice space to put some track around once I've finished them (!). And then a few years ago, this was being put in a skip so I had to rescue it. It's very much the kind of "get as much track on the board as possible", but it'll be handy for parts if nothing else. I wouldn't fancy living in that house, let's put it that way.
I quite like the idea of running some track around the garden, but that really needs a lot more planning, and for me to spend some money on something other than steel track. _________________ 1976 Vauxhall HP Firenza, 1976 Vauxhall Sportshatch (x2), 1986 Audi coupe quattro, 2000 Audi TT |

I'm lucky in that I have for 60 years been into golf, and at a level where I used to be a county player. No longer of course at 75, but the great thing about golf is that no matter what, one can still play together. I couldn't race against Hamilton, nor play tennis with Nadal, but we can play golf together. I have also bought a new compound bow and a set of arrows, since that used to be another hobby many years ago, and a big target stand. For the rest, I still have my complete Hornby Dublo set but I guess I'll give it all away. Looking at auctions it's worth nothing, even in its boxes, and as for photography, well, carrying 15 kgs of equipment is no longer my thing so I have put the 200/400 on the market. I may well buy a more modern camera and sell all the lenses too. Running down to the final countdown I guess. |

Ive recently started playing the piano again.
The quality and affordability of the Digital pianos available these days is astounding, mine is a Roland FP60.

Model railways. I have a 25 feet long layout set loosely in an imaginary town in the West Country of the UK around 1950.
Caravanning. I have a 19' German Geist van that we travel around Western Australia with our Caravan Club.
I enjoy studying local history and anything to do with flying. (I was a weekend pilot, way back in the seventies)
I am a foundation member of the local Midland Men's Shed.

Its weird being the same age as old people.

As with Mike, I have always had a fascination for photography. I started doing my own developing and printing (Monochrome) in the 1950's when I was just 8 years old. We had no running water and no electricity, but I managed. In the Digital Age, I now have SLR cameras, and find that unlike in the past, film is so cheap!!
Also with Mike as well as with Keith. Model railways has been a hobby off and on, but about 3 years ago my wife and I moved from a rural 5 acre property to an urban one in a small country town. I have a crook back and legs that preclude any automotive jobs, so I have taken up Model Railways again- this time with Digital control with sound, and modelling loosely based on the town in England where I was born. Working in OO scale. _________________ Dane- roverdriver but not a Viking. |

Like others here I have been a photographer since childhood and with my father being a semi-professional with a proper darkroom I used to do a lot of processing. I gave up using my film cameras back in 2006 but have a large collection of 35 mm colour slides and also quite a lot of B&W film ranging from 35 mm up to 2¼ x 3¼ which was the format of my first proper camera.
During these lock-down times I decided to digitise a large part of my film stock.
My scanner gives good results but is painfully slow so I decided to modify a digital bridge camera (Lumix FZ28 that I no longer use) with tubes and a slide mount. This is very fast in comparison but the quality is not as good but good enough for forum posts and the like.
Having done most of my slides I've now moved on to do my B&W strip film and am about to get stuck into my father's too. Here's one of my father's 35 mm B&W that I subjected to the on line auto-colouring.
The photo from 1950 shows my mother and sister and me the baby.
My first camera came from Woolworths. I only ran one or at most two films through it before deciding that the shots it took were a total waste of money.
My second camera was chalk and cheese but you only got 8 exposures on a reel of 120 film so you had to think carefully about what you took and the exposure you gave it.
The photo above doesn't really do justice to definition available from that camera.

We are also very keen, as a family, on military history and more so in recent years in WW2 re-enactment.
And being a Somerset lad cricket is also a great interest. _________________ Various Rootes Vehicles. |

Well, well, Peter. I also started off with a V.P. Twin. They would take 16 photos on a normally 8 shot 127 size film. And I didn't use it for long either. Because we had no electricity, and an enlarger was a very difficult device to build, so of course, all I could do were contact prints.
I quickly moved to a Box Brownie which used more expensive film, but the prints were an acceptable size. _________________ Dane- roverdriver but not a Viking. |

SNAP!
Those VP Twin contact prints were pretty small.

I like model engineering.
I usually make live steam engines but I fancied something different.
Ive just finished making this over the last few months in the shed.
It wont be to everybodys taste but im quite pleased with how its turned out.
Its to 1:3 scale.
Its definately non firing and has a solid barrel.
